Juli\u00e1n \u00edntimo amigo de \u00e9l, viaja para rescatarlo y le ofrece integrarse en su proyecto en una villa de emergencia. Ambos son sacerdotes de la Iglesia Cat\u00f3lica, que decidieron dedicar su vida los m\u00e1s pobres: Juli\u00e1n en la Argentina y Ger\u00f3nimo en los pa\u00edses del Tercer Mundo. A partir del encuentro, ambos se dedicar\u00e1n a trabajar en la Villa Virgen, un enorme asentamiento en el conurbano bonaerense. Ger\u00f3nimo comenzar\u00e1 a replantearse si la Iglesia es el mejor lugar para ayudar, mientras Juli\u00e1n buscar\u00e1 mejoras a trav\u00e9s de la pol\u00edtica. En la vida de estos dos hombres aparecer\u00e1 una abogada atea, dos formas de defender las convicciones, la construcci\u00f3n de un hospital p\u00fablico y un intento de asesinato.
